What inspired you to pursue a career in the landscape industry? My background was in software sales and marketing, and I never imagined working in the landscape industry! However, after seeing my in-laws stressed about various aspects of running a small business in 2010, I decided to join them in helping run the company and I'm so glad I did. Over the past 15 years, we've made many changes and improvements, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to see both the company and our team members grow year after year.
What’s one trend in landscaping that excites you right now? Outdoor living has really taken off in New England over the past four or five years. I grew up in Austin, did my undergrad in San Diego, and lived in Scottsdale & Austin after college & grad school, so I was accustomed to spending a lot of time outdoors. It's exciting to see our customers transform their backyards with outdoor patios, kitchens, fire pits, pools, and sport courts. This trend not only allows our customers to spend more time outside but also creates a great new space for entertaining their family and friends!
What do you love most about being on the Lynch Landscape team? It's simple: the people. We've put a lot of effort into building the best team possible, and I truly enjoy being part of every interview and working alongside everyone—from the team members in the field to our management team. We've had people start out mowing lawns who are now managers. It has been incredible to be a part of their journey both professionally and personally. Watching employees buy their first car, purchase their first home, attending quinceañeras and weddings, and even visiting families in South America has been such a rewarding experience for me.

Priscilla DeRubeis
Business Operations Manager
What’s one trend in landscaping that excites you right now? One of the most exciting trends in landscaping right now is the growing emphasis on eco-friendly gardens that feature native plants. I love how this approach not only enhances the natural beauty of an outdoor space but also supports local ecosystems. Native plants are naturally adapted to their environments, making them more resilient to local climate conditions. They also attract bees and butterflies, which are crucial for a healthy ecosystem. It’s the perfect blend of aesthetics and functionality.
What’s your favorite outdoor activity or way to spend time in nature? Hiking is my favorite outdoor activity because it allows me to fully immerse myself in nature while staying active. There’s something incredibly rewarding about reaching the summit of a mountain after exploring a new trail. I love the sense of adventure and the opportunity to disconnect from everyday stress. My current goal is to hike all of the New Hampshire 4,000-foot mountains within the next few years!
What do you love most about being on the Lynch Landscape Team? I love being part of this team because of the incredible people I work with and the supportive environment we’ve built. There is a real sense of teamwork and collaboration, where everyone is willing to share their knowledge, lend a hand, and push each other to do our best work. Beyond the great culture, I’ve also had the opportunity to grow my career here. My work at Lynch has given me the chance to expand my skills, take on new challenges, and advance in ways I never imagined. Being part of a team that encourages growth, hard work, and mutual respect makes Lynch a great place to work!
What’s your favorite way to see clients enjoy their finished projects? My favorite way to see clients enjoy their finished outdoor projects is when they have that “wow” moment—when they step into their transformed space and truly appreciate the beauty and functionality of their design. Whether it’s a family gathering around a new outdoor living space or someone relaxing in their yard, it’s rewarding to see how the space enhances their life. Knowing that our team’s hard work has created a place where they can make memories, unwind, and enjoy nature is incredibly fulfilling.

What inspired you to pursue a career in landscape design/build? I grew up in a family-owned business that specialized in creating & maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces, so I gained hands-on experience in both the creative and technical aspects of design, while also learning the value of craftsmanship, teamwork, and customer service. I witnessed the direct impact that well-designed spaces had on the lives of our clients, and it sparked a passion for transforming environments and enhancing nature. This family-driven legacy not only instilled a deep understanding of landscaping but also inspired me to pursue a career in the design-build world.
What’s your favorite part of the landscape design & construction process? For me, the final walkthrough is the culmination of hard work and creativity, where all the pieces finally come together. It's during this moment that we get to see the client's reaction to the finished project—when the designs come to life and customers experience the true value of the work. Witnessing their satisfaction and knowing that the new space will enhance their daily lives is what makes the process truly fulfilling.
If you weren’t in the landscape design/build industry, what would you be doing? I’d likely be in the travel or aviation industry, exploring new destinations, cultures, and connecting with people across the globe. Whether it’s the excitement of a new adventure or the desire to understand different environments, my interest in travel and aviation mirrors the same passion for discovery and creating experiences that inspire, just as landscape design does.
What is your favorite vacation spot and why? There's something magical about the blend of lush rainforests, stunning beaches, and rich wildlife in Costa Rica. Whether I'm exploring the vibrant ecosystems in the national parks, relaxing on the Pacific coast, or soaking in the natural hot springs, Costa Rica offers the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. The country’s commitment to sustainability and conservation also aligns with my own values, making it an even more special place to visit. It’s the ultimate destination for anyone who loves nature and outdoor exploration.

Josh Brown
Senior Designer
What’s your favorite part of the landscaping/design/construction process? Being able to take a project from start to finish and seeing it come to fruition.
How do you approach problem-solving on a challenging project? I like to think of how I would want to interact with the space and how it would become more functional yet beautiful at the same time.
If you could design your dream outdoor space, what would it include? It would definitely have some sort of golf element to it: a putting green, chip & putt or par three hole along with a pool, and outdoor kitchen/living space.
What do you think makes a great outdoor space truly special? The ultimate goal is to make the space work the best for the homeowner while seamlessly incorporating beautiful and intimate details.

Tamy Tiongson
Operations/Business Development Manager
What is your favorite plant or tree? Why? One of my favorite trees is the saucer magnolia (Magnolia x soulangiana). When I first moved to MA, we had one of these in our yard, and I absolutely loved seeing it bloom every year and spying on the bluejays and cardinals that would hang out in its branches.
Advice for homeowners: It’s important for homeowners to envision how they will live and move in their outdoor space. It’s easy to get lost in trends, but functionality matters most. For example, if you love hosting guests, a dedicated space for dining and entertaining should be a key focus.
If you could pick three words to describe yourself, what would they be? Passionate, Thoughtful, Whimsical
What is an interest/hobby of yours that enhances your work at Lynch? I am naturally a hospitality-minded individual who grew up in a large extended family, and I think that directly influences how I connect with our clientele and partners. Good communication and reliability are important to me personally, so I make sure to prioritize them for our clients.

Tony Soave Jr.
Construction Manager
What’s your favorite part of the landscaping/design/construction process? Logistics! Every job site is unique, no two job sites are identical and always pose a different set of challenges. It keeps me motivated and on my toes.
How do you approach problem-solving on a challenging project? Before the start of a new job or project, I often visualize the entire construction process from beginning to end. I usually do this as a mental "dry run" while lying in bed at night.
What’s your favorite outdoor activity or way to spend time in nature? Spending time on my boat with my family is my favorite way to enjoy nature. Especially on a calm day at Bassett's Island in Cotuit, where we can anchor up to the sandbar and relax.
What’s one piece of advice you always give to homeowners about their outdoor spaces? Maintenance is unavoidable for outdoor living spaces and landscapes in New England. It will always be necessary to perform a certain amount of maintenance every year, regardless of the products or equipment used.

Andrew Reilly
Designer
Favorite part of the design/construction process: Watching clients light up as they see their dream on paper come to life. Seeing their excitement is the best part of the job, hands down!
Favorite outdoor space or garden style: I love the simple reclaimed farm style. Growing up in New England, this style feels like home. A space with meadow grass, reclaimed granite posts, fieldstone walls, and mown paths brings a sense of nostalgia.
How do you make a landscape both beautiful and functional? Clean and simple layouts. Too many elements clutter the space, so I focus on the most desired features and lay them out in a way that flows naturally.
Interest/hobby that enhances your work: My passion for new technology has led me to explore 3D renders and drones to create the most realistic visuals for clients, improving design communication.

Anamika Dargan
Designer
What inspired you to pursue a career in landscape design? I was originally studying architecture in college, and I quickly found myself resonating more with the existential need for landscape architecture in our increasingly polluted world. I feel pride in designing little moments in the landscape that bear the ability to transport you in time and space, while also working toward creating more community-building and private greenspaces.
What do you think makes a great outdoor space truly special? What makes an outdoor space truly special is the personal connection a client develops with their space. It’s always great to incorporate the client’s personality when creating residential spaces because it adds a unique element to a home.
How do you approach making a landscape both beautiful and functional? Design is where beauty and function meet. Residential design usually requires a specific set of functional spaces. I usually start there and then “zoom out” to recognize patterns, ensuring each element flows seamlessly into the next.
If you could design your dream outdoor space, what would it be? My dream outdoor space would most likely be an immersive experience inspired by some of Tolkien’s fantasy landscapes, like Rivendell or Lothlorien!

Wyatt Greene
Production Manager
“What inspired you to pursue a career in landscape design/build?” I enjoy being outdoors and in motion – I don’t like to be tied to my desk! I also really enjoy helping to create a space where our clients can enjoy being outdoors as well.
What’s your favorite part of the design & construction process? My favorite part of the project is at the very end, when we get to see all the different elements tie in together for the final reveal before we turn it over to the homeowners. It’s so awesome to see the result of months of planning and collaboration.
What’s your favorite outdoor activity or way to spend time in nature? My favorite way to enjoy the great outdoors is by getting out on the ocean—fishing and snorkeling are the best!
Advice for homeowners: Mother Nature is amazing but can also wear outdoor spaces down, so it’s important to maintain the space so you can enjoy it for a long time.

What is an interest/hobby of yours that you think enhances the way you approach your work at Lynch? Because my favorite hobbies (boating, fishing, snowmobiling) are all outdoors, I really try to maximize the enjoyment of my clients’ time outdoors on their own properties.

Gary Medeiros

If you could pick a theme song for yourself, what would you pick and why? That’s a toss-up – I would say either “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell Roan or “Hips Don’t Lie” by Shakira.
What is your favorite vacation spot and why? Disney World in the middle of August. There’s nothing that says “family fun in the sun” like humidity and hours-long lines for rides!
If you could pick three words to describe yourself, what would they be? Collaborative, helpful, funny.
What’s your favorite way to see clients enjoy their finished projects? I often get the calls for maintenance and new issues at existing clients’ properties, so it’s always nice to know that we are relied on to help make homes continue to be their best and allow for families to enjoy their outdoor spaces.
What is an interest of yours that you think enhances the way you approach your work at Lynch? I’m a natural jokester, so I think it helps me keep a lighthearted approach to problem-solving and working with my colleagues. It reminds us that while our work is important, we shouldn’t take ourselves too seriously—there aren’t many issues in landscaping that we don’t have the solution to! Also, my ventriloquism skills help make answering questions in team meetings interesting.

Mike Beattie

Gilciney Monteiro

What inspired you to pursue a career in landscape? My deep love for nature and hands-on work instilled by my grandparents inspired me to pursue a career in landscaping. The endless possibilities to enhance landscapes both visually and environmentally is my passion.
What is your favorite outdoor space or garden style, and how does it influence your work? My favorite garden style is a mixture of cottage and contemporary. The meandering paths and colorful combinations of flowers in a cottage garden can be combined with modern elements like steel containers and water features to create a fresh and interesting look.
What do you think makes a great outdoor space truly special? An outdoor garden space can become truly special by personalizing it to reflect the owner’s aesthetic while creating a colorful ecosystem full of biodiversity. Combining plants that provide multiple seasons of interest keeps the space dynamic and engaging all year long.
How do you approach making a landscape both beautiful and functional? Creating a beautiful and functional garden requires thoughtful planning and a balance between aesthetics and practicality. Selecting low-maintenance plants that match the local climate and soil is one of the first steps to increasing the overall functionality of a garden space.

What inspired you to pursue a career in the tree industry? There were so many reasons but most of which is my love for the outdoors and its natural beauty.
How do you approach problem-solving on a challenging project? When pruning, I try to keep plants as close to one’s natural form. Most plants already have natural beauty, so I can only try to enhance what’s already there.
What’s your favorite outdoor activity or way to spend time in nature? My favorite outdoor activity is riding my motorcycle on a beautiful morning on a scenic, winding road, whether it’s in the mountains, by the ocean, or on a back road.
What is your favorite plant or tree? Why? My favorite tree has always been an American elm tree. With its classic vase shape, huge limbs, and weeping branches, it has always held my attention.
What do you love most about being on the Lynch Landscape team? It’s great to experience the ease of communication amongst everyone and to work closely together with enthusiasm and determination to take care of our clients’ and their homes.

What inspired you to pursue a career in landscape? Ever since my first job as a kayak guide in Boston, I’ve never been able to sit inside all day. Every day in the landscape industry is different; it’s fast-paced, and you never know what challenges you’ll encounter. It’s fun to find the right solutions and make everything fit together.
What is your favorite outdoor space or garden style, and how does it influence your work? I really enjoy native plantings and pollinator gardens. They are low maintenance, beneficial to the environment, and attract butterflies and birds. Native species easily thrive in their environment with little to no alterations to the existing conditions they are planted in, and they support the local ecosystem.
What do you think makes a great outdoor space truly special? I think an outdoor space is truly special when it feels like an extension of the home with a balance of comfort, beauty, and functionality.
How do you approach making a landscape both beautiful and functional? I incorporate low-maintenance plants and resilient species to provide the highest success rate while requiring very little time and energy from the client. I also like to choose plants that provide some kind of interest all year long, whether they’re blooms, berries, or foliage.

Vincent Shanley
Landscape Supervisor
What inspired you to pursue a career in landscape? I have been interested in landscaping since I was young; my father was an avid gardener on the weekends. It was a great way for him to relax and enjoy his yard. I feel the same way and continue to enjoy my property much the same way he did.
What’s your favorite outdoor activity or way to spend time in nature? I enjoy the outdoors; in particular, I love skiing and golfing with friends and family.
What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you? I was a lobbyist at the Massachusetts State House for 11 years.
What do you think makes a great outdoor space truly special? Outdoor spaces should be inviting for people to relax and spend time comfortably. The space should reflect the owners and how they will use it. Planning for each season is important—while we may not get quite year-round use here in New England, outdoor spaces should be enjoyable in almost any weather.
Mark Gleason
Landscape Supervisor
What's a project you're particularly proud of, and why? I recently had the opportunity to visit a property in which I installed a large walkway and patio in the late 90's for the same customer. I was happy to see after so long that it had stood the test of time and was in such great condition, you would never know that it was done over 20 years ago.
What is your favorite plant or tree? Why? The Japanese Snowbell. It's a very special tree for my Angel who is no longer with me.
What is your favorite vacation spot and why? Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. I've been going there since I was a young kid and it holds a special place in my heart. I breathe better there, no matter the season.
What do you think makes a great outdoor space truly special? No matter the space, or client's needs, being able to deliver a homeowner's vision on how their space is utilized makes it special. When a client can use the space created as they envisioned it – that's special.
Tree Division

Dave Greene
Tree Division Manager
What inspired you to pursue a career in the tree industry? I got into the tree industry originally for the excitement. It was fast-paced, dangerous, and very similar to competitive sports. People would watch the work being performed and actually clap.
What is one fact about trees that most people don’t know? Trees can communicate with each other through an underground fungal network sometimes referred to as the “Wood Wide Web.” Through mycorrhizal fungi, trees exchange nutrients, support younger trees by sharing resources, and even warn each other about pests. This underground network allows forests to function as interconnected communities.
What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you? I am a licensed OUPV (Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessel) Captain, also referred to as a 6 Pack or Charter Boat Captain’s License.
Advice for homeowners: If you’re new to a property and have the time, observe the landscape in different seasons and times of day before making decisions about your outdoor living spaces.
What do you love most about being on the Lynch Landscape team? The team members genuinely get along, from management to the newest crew members. The different divisions work well together and respect each other’s work. I’ve known some of the Lynch team for over ten years and even have immediate family working here. It’s a place I look forward to coming to every day.

Mike Hetzl
ISA Certified Arborist
What inspired you to pursue a career in the tree industry? I have always loved being outside and working with my hands. I have a true love and appreciation for trees, as well as the physical and mental challenge of tree work.
What is a fact about trees most people don't know? Trees are able to communicate with each other in two ways – underground and aboveground. Through an extensive network of fungi called 'mycorrhizal networks,' separate trees are connected via their roots over vast areas underground, allowing them to exchange chemicals, hormones, and nutrients. Aboveground, some tree species emit pheromones if their leaves are being eaten, warning other trees, which then direct larger amounts of tannins into their leaves to sicken herbivores and protect themselves.
Do you have a favorite tree & why? The 'Buttonball' tree in Sunderland, Massachusetts is an American Sycamore estimated to be 350-400 years old. Its trunk and limbs are gigantic—it’s quite a sight to behold. The massive redwoods in Northern California are also awe-inspiring!
What is your favorite vacation spot and why? Almost anywhere in the European Alps is good, mainly for skiing, but also for hiking. I’m still looking forward to heading out west for that!
What’s one piece of advice you always give to homeowners about their outdoor spaces? Get rid of any large pine trees close to your house. Pine trees are among the most common, if not the most common, trees to fall during storms—mostly due to their height and shallow root systems.
