Lynch Landscape is a full-service landscape company which offers various maintenance services throughout the 4 New England seasons to keep your property maintained and cared for. Our talent and attention to detail will exceed your expectations providing you with great pride in ownership of your property.
Lawn or core aeration allows air to reach the sub-surface and the grass roots embedded in the soil. Aeration machines remove small "cores" from your lawn which helps loosen the soil and turf areas. Grass requires soil as base which can easily become compacted and thinner due to general lawn traffic (walking, riding bikes and/or children playing).
By restricting air circulation, the roots are unable to absorb the ideal amounts of oxygen. As with all plants, oxygen is vital to their growth, vitality, health and appearance. This inability for roots to develop can potentially mean the soil will produce poor conditions for your lawn and grass.
Again, we highly recommend lawn aeration to enhance your turf and its root system thus providing you with the best looking lawn possible. Here are some additional benefits:
Have you just worked hard cutting down an unwanted tree or trimmed some low-hanging branches? We can chip and remove this debris, especially when the debris is often times too large for your trash removal or waste station to handle.
Here at Lynch Landscape & Tree Service, Inc., we have several chippers that can handle branches and limbs up to 18 inches in diameter. By feeding the limbs and brush into a chipper, we can turn the debris into small chips and remove them off your property.
Compost provides organic, slow release nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. These beneficial micro-organisms improve soil quality and create a healthier lawn which requires less water. In addition, this organic approach provides enhanced turf growth and enriched color. Ultimately by using compost as part of your fall lawn service, you can build grass density and thatch which in turn will help reduce the amount of weeds in your lawn.
Over periods of time, small pieces of grass and roots die which gather just below and above the soil in your lawn. This organic matter is called thatch and in limited amounts can help your turf. However, if too much thatch is created and the naturally occurring process cannot break it down, this unintended barrier can prevent your lawn from receiving the air, water and nutrients it requires for the development of roots.
We have dethatching machines that look similar to a lawn mower. Instead of a blade for cutting crass, the power rakes will comb and knife your lawn with "teeth" and that remove the thatch. The remaining thatch or debris is generally raked afterwards. This also allows a perfect time to lay additional seed in poor performing areas.
Undoubtedly the leaves will fall from your tree. You decide what happens next. When we are involved we consult you on your preferences to ensure our crews provide a quality fall clean up as every property is different and every homeowner has different preferences.
During a fall clean up we clear leaves and small debris off the lawn, property and hard surfaces. Using power leaf blowers, rakes, tarps and any other necessary tools we remove as many fallen leaves as possible from the property or blow them to a desired location.
We strongly recommend not leaving too many fallen leaves in your yard. In areas around the foundation you might find that mice, rats and other rodents have found their way to a new home for the winter. Please know that mice can also be a health hazard as mice and ticks can carry Lyme disease.
Additionally, most perennials can be trimmed or cut back in the fall which can be done as a separate service if requested or necessary.
We have large quantities of firewood and can deliver your seasoned firewood usually within 24-48 hours. Our goal is to offer you hardwood firewood that is well-seasoned and accurately measured.
We stock a mixture of hardwoods which includes Oak, Elm, and Ash. Sizes are 16"-18" (most common) and please specify if you require custom size pieces (ex: under 16" in length).
We deliver firewood to the following towns and cities:
Spring bulbs or flowering bulbs are hardy and usually planted in the fall. Stored within a bulb is almost everything necessary for the plant to flower at the appropriate time in the spring. It is really like an underground storehouse and flower factory. Within the bulb is just about everything the plant will need to sprout and flower at the appropriate time. Split a bulb in half and you will see this clearly.
The central area of the bulb includes small leaves which cradle the bulb and that surrounding material is the scale. We can help you plant flowering bulbs in the fall. And you or we at Lynch Landscape & Tree Service, Inc. can water as necessary to bring a colorful display of flowers in the spring!
Proper gutter cleaning is an important part of regular home and property maintenance. Your gutters are essential in diverting water off your roof and into downspouts away from your home and foundation. Unfortunately, gutters collect unwanted items as well such as leaves, debris, twigs, shingle material and dirt.
Problems occur when too much of the leaves and debris collect in the gutters and downspouts which leave no place for the water to drain. Water should consistently drain away from the house to avoid foundation issues related to soil erosion. Foundation work and repair is extremely expensive so we recommend getting your gutters cleaned annually to avoid any potential damage to your home.
Another issue arises when gutters are neglected as well. Clogged gutters means they are full of sticks, leaves and other debris which can build up and become heavy. The fasteners that attach the gutters to your home are not made to withstand that weight. The gutters, if not cleaned, will begin to pull away from the house over time. Instead of the gutters catching the rain water, now there is a gap for water to escape and land directly along the foundation. Additionally, hanging gutters pose a safety threat as they could fall from a first or second story home hurting someone or causing further damage to your property.
In recent years, Hydroseeding has become the chosen method to establish a healthy, green, and lush lawn. Seed, hydro-mulch, a bonding agent, and fertilizer are mixed together and sprayed onto soil. The hydro-mulch provides for a protection layer which helps lock in moisture and prevents environmental elements (rain, wind, etc.) from washing away the seed. Additionally, since the seed was mixed with water, the seed will germinate much faster.
At Lynch Landscape & Tree Service, Inc., we install hemlock, pine and dark forest mulch for our residential and commercial customers. We use only the highest quality of mulch which contains no fillers and is professionally shredded for immediate use.
Mulching materials are placed on top of the soil surface to improve the soil quality and maintain moisture. As for the tree and plants, mulch is one of the most beneficial applications for the health of tree and mulch can prevent water loss and weeds.
Mulch also helps keep the soil temperatures more constant. Over time it helps aeration, drainage and soil vitality. In addition, mulching provides a beautiful, well-kept appearance and allows for the shrubs, plants and trees to become the highlight of your landscape.
Pruning your shrubs and trees is the horticultural practice which promotes plant health care, vigor, appearance and safety. Pruning and trimming occurs, depending on the plant, typically during the winter and summer months to remove dead or dying limbs. Structural pruning ensures the plant's future viability is preserved. Aesthetic pruning encourages flower and fruit development. Lynch believes in hand-pruning shrubs and ornamental trees, not shearing, to maintain plant form, density and size. Annual pruning is recommended as part of a standard maintenance and estate care plan.

Sodding a new lawn installation or lawn repair provides usable turf almost instantly. At Lynch Landscape & Tree Service, Inc. we have years of experience installing lawns, whether from sod, hydroseed or dry seed. There are multiple factors and variables that determine a successful and healthy lawn. These include: preparation, irrigation, soil quality, fertilizer, and light/shade conditions.
To prepare the area, we typically install three to six inches of quality, screened loam on top of the base soil. From there, we rake and grade the soil to create a fine base and area to ensure successful growth of grass and its roots. Once the loam and preparation is complete, the lawn installation can begin.
Seeding or hydroseeding will create a beautiful lawn however it takes more time for the seed to germinate. Hydroseeding is recommend as it expedites the process. Typically it takes one to three years for a seeded lawn to fully develop. Sod is a more expensive option and provides almost instant usage. Sod requires heavy watering as to not dry out during the first phase after installation.
