Here at Lynch Landscape & Tree Service, Inc., we have several chippers that can handle branches and limbs up to 18 inches in diameter. By feeding the limbs and brush into a chipper, we can turn the debris into small chips and remove them off your property.

Compost provides organic, slow release nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. These beneficial micro-organisms improve soil quality and create a healthier lawn which requires less water. In addition, this organic approach provides enhanced turf growth and enriched color. Over periods of time, small pieces of grass and roots die which gather just below and above the soil in your lawn. This organic matter is called thatch and in limited amounts can help your turf. However, if too much thatch is created and the naturally occurring process cannot break it down, this unintended barrier can prevent your lawn from receiving the air, water and nutrients it requires for the development of roots.

We have dethatching machines that look similar to a lawn mower. Instead of a blade for cutting crass, the power rakes will comb and knife your lawn with "teeth" and that remove the thatch. The remaining thatch or debris is generally raked afterwards. This also allows a perfect time to lay additional seed in poor performing areas.

Proper gutter cleaning is an important part of regular home and property maintenance. Your gutters are essential in diverting water off your roof and into downspouts away from your home and foundation. Unfortunately, gutters collect unwanted items as well such as leaves, debris, twigs, shingle material and dirt.

Problems occur when too much of the leaves and debris collect in the gutters and downspouts which leave no place for the water to drain. Water should consistently drain away from the house to avoid foundation issues related to soil erosion. Another issue arises when gutters are neglected as well. Clogged gutters means they are full of sticks, leaves and other debris which can build up and become heavy. In recent years, Hydroseeding has become the chosen method to establish a healthy, green, and lush lawn. Seed, hydro-mulch, a bonding agent, and fertilizer are mixed together and sprayed onto soil. Lastly, the soils in the MetroWest area are inherently acidic in nature. We recommend applying lime to reduce the acidity so the natural soil nutrients, which turf grasses requires, becomes readily available.

Sodding a new lawn installation or lawn repair provides usable turf almost instantly. At Lynch Landscape & Tree Service, Inc. we have years of experience installing lawns, whether from sod, hydroseed or dry seed. There are multiple factors and variables that determine a successful and healthy lawn. These include: preparation, irrigation, soil quality, fertilizer, and light/shade conditions.

To prepare the area, we typically install three to six inches of quality, screened loam on top of the base soil. From there, we rake and grade the soil to create a fine base and area to ensure successful growth of grass and its roots. Once the loam and preparation is complete, the lawn installation can begin.

Seeding or hydroseeding will create a beautiful lawn however it takes more time for the seed to germinate. Hydroseeding is recommend as it expedites the process. Typically it takes one to three years for a seeded lawn to fully develop. Sod is a more expensive option and provides almost instant usage. Sod requires heavy watering as to not dry out during the first phase after installation.
